Incorporating Monitor Audios innovative, pivoting Inverted Dual Concentric (IDC) midrange/tweeter module and 8 RST C-CAM bass driver, the three-way CP-WT380IDC represents the highest level of new CP performance.

The IDC module houses a 4 C-CAM inverted midrange driver surrounding a 25mm C-CAM gold dome tweeter. The entire mid/tweeter unit can be pivoted and directed towards the listening space to provide optimal imaging with excellent midrange and high frequency detail.

Improved driver specialisation, higher efficiency and power handling, and greater directivity combine in the three-way models to deliver an enhanced bass foundation for a naturally coherent response up to 30kHz.

Complete with integrated fully-sealed back boxes, Monitor Audios latest Controlled Performance range offers installers the most direct route to discreet high performance audio in almost any acoustic environment.  No fewer than ten new models across four performance levels provide a wide choice of in-wall and in-ceiling options for the creative designer. In every case a precision-optimised system of drivers and enclosure perfected by our latest technologies, simplifies the installation of discreet high performance sound.

Unlike open-backed designs whose success is subject to the properties of the wall cavity behind, the new CPs will deliver the full potential of Monitor Audios award-winning speaker engineering. This means that in typical stud-wall and ceiling structures, installers and their clients are guaranteed excellent audio quality and versatility, as well as a superior level of sound isolation between rooms and floors.

Not only can audio be controlled for optimum results. New trimless bezels and super-discreet, paintable magnetic grilles allow the latest CP range to blend almost invisibly with walls and ceilings for a near-seamless integration with decor. Once easily and securely installed via Monitor Audios patented tri-grip mounting, high reliability is assured by CPs airtight enclosure design, which protects each precision-engineered driver system against the damaging ingress of dust and dirt.

Gold Dome C-CAM
The gold dome tweeter is formed from a ceramic-coated aluminium/magnesium alloy, gold anodised to a specific thickness for ideal stiffness and damping characteristics. Its new profile and surround geometry have been developed using advanced modelling tools, to provide the optimum qualities for accurate sound reproduction. The new design moves the first order of breakup to beyond 35kHz, producing a linear response way beyond audibility, which matches the wide frequency bandwidth available from HD music and cinema sound formats.

The gold dome is thinner, lighter, more rigid and therefore more efficient than domes made from other materials which are prone to distortion in the audio band.

Tri-Grip Dog Fixings
All models feature a unique Tri-Grip fixing design. This 3-position ''dog'' style fixing provides a greater contact surface area than other types, whilst saving installation time. The Tri-Grip fixings are made from a tough re-enforced polymer, giving a secure fixing without the risk of over-tightening.

Magnetic Grille Fixing
Ultra-powerful Neodymium magnets hold the speaker grilles in place, allowing for easier installation and access. In-ceiling models offer the opportunity to use square and circular grilles for the ideal aesthetic result.

C-CAM Bass Drivers
Refined over many years by Monitor Audio, Ceramic-Coated Aluminium/Magnesium is used as a driver cone material for all our speaker designs from the mid-market models up. Originally developed by the aerospace industry for jet engine components, C-CAM''s properties are ideal for loudspeaker cones being extremely rigid, yet light enough to yield high overall efficiency. C-CAM bass drivers are able to resist the bending distortion imposed by sudden and extreme bass excursions to reproduce very clean, deep and dynamic bass frequencies. Conventional cone materials are more likely to flex in operation, producing a significant level of audible distortion.

RST
The Rigid Surface Technology (RST) cone profile is inspired by the Japanese art of Origami, which demonstrates how a very light material (like paper) can be strengthened and made more rigid by making small and precise folds on its surface. Monitor Audio has applied this principle in designing the CAM/RST cones for the GX and RX ranges. Developed and perfected using sophisticated computer modelling (Finite Element Analysis), the GX mid and bass driver cones have been strengthened by a series of radial ribs; the RX driver cones by a pattern of dimples. Our simulations have proved that RST significantly increases cone rigidity, allowing the radiating surfaces to resist mechanical bending forces, which can twist the shape of conventional driver cones to produce distorted sound. The strengthening effect of RST means that we can use thinner, lighter and more responsive C-CAM cones, which provide speed and accuracy while offering greatly reduced distortion. The RST patterns also help to displace standing waves that can propagate on the cone''s surface
