AudioQuest

AudioQuest began, as founder Bill Low tells it, almost by accident. In 1978, while running a one-man hi-fi shop in Southern California, Low started experimenting with custom-built audio cables, discovering that better interconnects and speaker cables could make as much audible difference as expensive upgrades to amplifiers or speakers. Two years later, in 1980, he founded AudioQuest to take that discovery to the rest of the world.

Since then, AudioQuest has grown into the most significant cable supplier in the high-end audio market, with products in thousands of retailers across more than 60 countries. The company has always guided itself by a simple engineering principle — that the first job of any audio product is to "do no harm" to the signal passing through it — and that philosophy has taken AudioQuest well beyond cables, into award-winning products like the DragonFly USB DAC/headphone amp series, Lyra phono cartridges, and Niagara power products.

Now in its fifth decade, AudioQuest remains led by Bill Low himself, still based in Irvine, California, and still driven by the same restless curiosity about what actually makes a difference in how music sounds — proof that even the humble cable is worth taking seriously.
