How do I choose the right TV screen size for my room?
The ideal TV size depends on your viewing distance and room size. A general rule is to sit about 1.5 to 2.5 times the screen’s diagonal size away from the TV.
For example:
- 43" TV → Best viewed from 5–7 feet away
- 55" TV → Best viewed from 7–9 feet away
- 65" TV → Best viewed from 8–10 feet away
Does a bigger screen always mean a better viewing experience?
Not always. While larger TVs provide a more immersive experience, the resolution and viewing distance also matter. Sitting too close to a large, low-resolution screen can make the picture look pixelated. For the best experience, pair screen size with 4K or 8K resolution on bigger TVs (55" and above).
How are TV screen sizes measured?
TV sizes are measured diagonally, from one corner of the display to the opposite corner (not including the bezels or frame). So, a 55-inch TV means the screen itself measures 55 inches diagonally.
