As a general guide, sit at a distance of roughly 1.5 times the screen's diagonal size for the most immersive experience with 4K content - so a 55-inch TV is comfortably viewed from around 2 metres away, while a 75-inch TV suits a viewing distance closer to 2.8 metres.

Smaller screens in the 32" to 43" range work well in bedrooms, kitchens and compact living spaces where viewing distance is naturally shorter. It's worth measuring your intended TV space and typical seating distance before you buy, as a screen that's too large for the room can feel overwhelming, while one that's too small won't do justice to a 4K picture from a normal seating position.
