Samsung is entering a new era launching their 2024 range of TVs later this month. Get ready for new models coming to Peter Tyson, featuring a gamut of leading technology, including new generation Gen3 processing power in their flagship models, AI 4K upscaling, anti glare technology plus a new range of the popular Frame.
To make life simple for you 2023 models are denoted by the letter C in the model code, and the new 2024 models are all D. You can pre-order any of these models today, and you could also get a free soundbar* with many of these models. Keep reading to find out more.
Crystal UHD
At the entry point we have the Crystal UHD TVs, the DU7000 and DU8000 from 43” to 85”. If you want an inexpensive work horse TV, these are an easy option that don’t skimp on features with 3 HDMI ports and Samsung’s Tizen Smart TV Platform built in.
QLED
Next up there’s the QLED TVs. That Q stands for Quantum dots which improve your LED TVs brightness and colour performance. The Q60DA Q70DA and Q80DA models feature improved colour, contrast and brightness over the UHD models. They are all 60Hz so these aren’t your high refresh rate super gaming TVs for those looking for the smoothest of smooth, but for everyday TV and films, they’ll do a more than great job. QLEDs offer stand out picture quality at a nice price.
NEO QLED 4K
The NEO QLED 4K range are the most advanced 4K LED TV models on Samsung’s line up featuring the QN85D and QN90D. This is where features like 144hz refresh rates, high brightness HDR, incredible black levels and anti glare tech come into play. These are for people who want the very best a 4K panel can offer and that anti glare means you can have this situated in any room and get a great picture.
The Frame
Before we mention the most premium models, The Frame has been a wildly popular option for lifestyle focused looking for an easy way to make their TV disappear into the room when they’re not watching. The incredible matte finish and design on this TV comes with improved features for 2024, like lower power consumption in Art Mode, a thinner profile and new bezel options.
NEO QLED 8K
The NEO QLED 8K is the most ultra premium panel in this line up. Now it’s not just about more resolution here, you’re getting features you won’t find in the QLED 4K models like almost zero bezel, 240hz refresh rate and the very best in processing technology. If you simply want the very best, with no budget restrictions, this is it.
OLED
Last but by no means least are the OLED models, these come in S90D and S95D. The S95D adds in a new anti glare technology and HDR Pro which improves contrast; features that you don’t get in the S90D. Both come with all the advantages of OLED with sharp, accurate picture quality and incredible blacks.
Now, you might be asking what is the difference between OLED and QLED these days? The gap is narrower now, but OLEDs offer a more accurate picture, infinite blacks, wider viewing angles and thinner profile over QLED. Counter to that, QLEDs are brighter and more vivid so you don’t have to consider room placement as much as OLED, and they are a better value proposition, especially if you want to go big.
