DX260 MK2
CS43198 x8 | Octa DAC Chip Matrix
The CS43198, a flagship DAC chip from Cirrus Logic, delivers excellent dynamic range, outstanding micro-detail resolution and an extremely low noise floor, resulting in exceptional overall performance.
The Octa DAC Chip Matrix with iBasso’s implementation ensures both outstanding sound quality and industry-leading DAP measurements. THD+N reaches -123dB, among the best in portable players. This achievement sets a new standard within the industry.
By increasing component quantity, iBasso achieves improved performance and greater overall precision.
FPGA-Master 2.0 | The Evolved Audio System Controller
Following years of algorithm development, iBasso’s FPGA-Master has reached generation 2.0. Acting as the audio system controller, it directly requests audio data from the SoC while maintaining signal integrity and accurate reproduction. It synchronises and generates all audio clocks using dual NDK femtosecond oscillators to achieve a fully synchronised single-clock source. FPGA-Master 2.0 also provides picosecond-level precision control, adjusting DAC clocking, data flow and FIR filter construction.
FIR Filter | The DAC Matrix Engine
Thanks to the new FPGA-Master 2.0 algorithm, the potential of the eight CS43198 DACs is further unlocked.
Synchronous parallel output mode reduces inter-DAC distortion to improve overall performance.
FIR 2x and FIR 4x modes enable picosecond-level control of DAC clocking and data, allowing each DAC stream to be independently adjusted. Through delayed parallel processing of multiple DACs, a hardware-based analogue FIR filter is formed, averaging variations between DACs, reducing distortion and improving detail and realism.
Optimised External Power Supply | Battery Bypass Operation
When connected to a USB charger supplying sufficient power, the system splits power delivery into two paths. One path powers the DX260 MK2 directly, bypassing the internal battery during operation. The second path charges the battery and fully bypasses it once charged. This design helps reduce heat during simultaneous charging and playback, improving battery protection and longevity.
Android 13 + Mango OS | Open OS + Closed Linux OS
The DX260 MK2 runs Android 13, allowing easy installation of streaming apps and a full Android experience. It bypasses SRC at a system level, enabling both Mango Player and third-party apps to output high-resolution audio without resampling.
It also features Mango OS, a Linux-based audio system optimised for pure playback performance. With reduced background processes, no Wi-Fi or Bluetooth interference and lower EMI, it provides a more focused listening environment.
User-Removable Back Cover
The design introduces a refreshed iBasso industrial aesthetic, including volume control guards and a more robust appearance. The back cover is removable, allowing direct battery access for easier replacement.
