BenQ's roots trace back to 1984, when it began life as the manufacturing arm of Taiwan's Acer group. In 2001, the division spun off into its own independent company and brand — and chose a name that doubled as a mission statement: BenQ stands for "Bringing Enjoyment 'N' Quality to Life," a philosophy the company has built its entire product strategy around ever since.

Today BenQ is one of the most recognised names in visual display technology, with a product range spanning home cinema and gaming projectors, professional and gaming monitors, interactive flat panels for classrooms and offices, and eye-care display technology designed to make screens genuinely more comfortable over long hours of use.
