Ferrum Audio
Ferrum Audio was founded in early 2020 near Warsaw, Poland, by parent company HEM — an electronics design and manufacturing house with more than two decades of experience developing original audio electronics, including years of engineering and manufacturing work for respected names in high-end digital audio. That deep technical foundation gave Ferrum an unusually mature starting point for a young brand, built on real-world expertise rather than a standing start.
The Ferrum name draws on the heritage of the region where the team was raised and has spent their careers — an area of Poland long associated with iron and metalworking, and coincidentally just a short distance from the birthplace of composer Frédéric Chopin. HEM's CEO, Marcin Hamerla, comes from a family of blacksmiths himself, giving the name a genuinely personal resonance. From that foundation, Ferrum set out to combine sustainability, durability, and quality into compact, beautifully finished components offered at genuinely accessible prices.
The results have arrived quickly: the HYPSOS hybrid power supply reimagined what a power unit could contribute to a system, the OOR headphone amplifier set new standards for intimate, analogue-driven headphone listening, and the WANDLA DAC rounded out a lineup that has already picked up multiple EISA awards. For a brand still in its first years, Ferrum has built an outsized reputation among headphone and desktop-audio enthusiasts worldwide.
