Final

Final's story stretches back to 1974, when Japanese engineer Kanemori Takai founded the company with a genuinely groundbreaking first product: a phono cartridge featuring a figure-eight air-core coil and a cantilever cut from a one-carat diamond. From that beginning, Takai went on to develop original amplifiers, speakers, and complete audio systems, building a reputation for uncompromising, boundary-pushing design that has stayed with the brand ever since.

In 2007, the company was re-established as Final Inc., beginning the manufacture and sale of Final-branded earphones from 2009 and expanding into international markets across Europe and Asia within just two years. In 2014, a management buyout led by current CEO Mitsuru Hosoo brought the company under fresh, independent leadership, and the team went on to develop the iconic Lab I — the first earphones with a titanium housing created using 3D-printing technology, in partnership with NTT Data Engineering.

Now headquartered in Kawasaki, Kanagawa, Final designs and manufactures everything in-house, from driver development to final assembly, guided by a brand philosophy that has never wavered: a thorough commitment to what is fundamentally right. From accessible entry-level earphones to flagship planar magnetic headphones, that philosophy shows in every product to carry the Final name.
