iFi Audio
iFi Audio was launched in 2012 in Southport, England, as a sister brand to Abbingdon Music Research (AMR), an already highly respected manufacturer of high-end audio electronics. The idea behind iFi was simple but ambitious: take the audiophile-grade engineering AMR had built its reputation on and bring it to smaller, more affordable, and often portable products — genuinely democratising technology that had previously lived only at the top of the market.
That strategic move proved remarkably successful. iFi's portfolio has grown to more than 50 products spanning DACs, headphone amplifiers, Bluetooth streamers, phono stages, power-conditioning accessories, and portable amp/DACs, including fan favourites like the hip-dac, the GO blu, and the high-power iDSD Diablo. Built around proprietary technologies like PureWave balanced circuitry and sourcing components globally from Germany, Japan, and the USA, iFi has continued to push forward — most recently with innovations in wireless audio like its xMEMS-equipped GO Pods earphones.
With additional offices across the US, the Netherlands, and Asia, iFi occupies a genuinely distinctive space in hi-fi: audiophile-calibre performance delivered at entry-level and mid-tier pricing, built for listeners who want measurable sonic improvement without a high-end price tag.
