IsoAcoustics

IsoAcoustics was founded in 2012 by Dave Morrison, a Canadian audio engineer who spent nearly two decades designing and building radio and television studios for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, including major design work on Toronto's 1.72-million-square-foot Broadcasting Centre. That deep, hands-on experience with studio acoustics and vibration control gave Morrison a genuinely rare grounding for a company built entirely around isolation.

While renovating a radio drama studio in the late 1980s, Morrison began prototyping designs that gave far more flexibility and control over speaker placement and isolation — and as he refined those ideas over the years, he found he could hear genuine improvements in openness and natural space. He booked time at Canada's National Research Council to test his prototypes rigorously, eventually patenting the technology and founding IsoAcoustics to bring it to market, starting with the ISO-L8R professional monitor stand.

Headquartered in Markham, Ontario, IsoAcoustics has grown into a genuine specialist in acoustic isolation, with products like the GAIA series, OREA, and ISO-PUCK now used under studio monitors, floorstanding speakers, turntables, and subwoofers in more than 70 countries. It occupies a distinctive niche in hi-fi: a company built entirely around one idea — that what your equipment stands on matters just as much as the equipment itself — refined by someone who spent 20 years learning exactly why.
