Lyngdorf Audio was founded in 2005 in Skive, Denmark, by Peter Lyngdorf, a Danish audio entrepreneur whose career in high fidelity stretches back to 1975. Over three decades, Lyngdorf built and led some of the most respected names in audio, including founding the retail chain HiFi Klubben and DALI (Danish Audiophile Loudspeaker Industries) in 1983 — experience that gave him a rare, comprehensive view of what genuinely great sound reproduction required.

That experience culminated in Lyngdorf Audio's defining achievement: the Millennium, the world's first fully digital audio amplifier, which converts digital audio data directly into an optimised speaker-driving signal without ever passing through a conventional analogue conversion stage. The brand followed that breakthrough with RoomPerfect, a sophisticated room correction technology that measures and tunes a system specifically to the room it's playing in — technology now considered among the most advanced of its kind in the industry.

In 2007, that reputation for uncompromising digital engineering led Steinway & Sons, the legendary piano maker, to grant Lyngdorf exclusive rights to build audio systems under the Steinway Lyngdorf name, designed to reproduce the sound of a Steinway grand piano with startling accuracy. Still designed and manufactured in Denmark, Lyngdorf Audio continues to build amplifiers, processors, and speakers for listeners who want cutting-edge digital technology in service of genuinely accurate, room-perfect sound.
