How to connect a Marantz amplifier to a TV
Integrating your superb Marantz audio system with your television for superior sound quality is a common and highly rewarding setup. For modern TVs and hi-fi amplifiers, the Audio Return Channel (ARC) via an HDMI cable is usually the simplest and most effective solution. This allows the TV to send audio back down the same cable used for video. If your components are older or lack ARC support, you will typically rely on an Optical (TOSLINK) cable. This digital connection ensures a clean audio transfer from the television to a digital input on your Marantz unit.
Remember, the goal is always to bypass the TV's internal, often inadequate, speakers and utilise the musicality and power of your Marantz stereo amplifier. For models with built-in networking, you may also benefit from advanced features such as Marantz's HEOS wireless streaming.
