Mission

Mission was founded in 1977 in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, by Farad Azima, a former audio importer and distributor whose experience across the industry gave him a clear vision for what British loudspeaker design could achieve. That vision arrived remarkably quickly: in 1978, Mission's debut 770 loudspeaker introduced the world's first commercial polypropylene bass driver, a genuine materials-science breakthrough that set new standards for clarity and bass performance and helped define an entire era of British hi-fi.

Mission continued that engineering-first approach through the 1980s and beyond, developing the proprietary Inverted Driver Geometry (IDG) time-alignment technology on its acclaimed 700 series and building a reputation for fast, transient-accurate, naturally balanced sound. Under the acoustic direction of Peter Comeau since 1999, Mission has continued to earn industry recognition, including What Hi-Fi? Best Loudspeaker and EISA Speaker of the Year awards.

Now part of the International Audio Group, Mission's current range faithfully revives its most iconic models, including the multi-award-winning 770 and 700 standmounts, alongside new designs like the 750 and 778X integrated amplifier — proof that the materials-driven innovation that defined Mission's earliest days is still very much part of the brand's DNA.
