Nessie
Nessie
Nessie is a German record-cleaning machine brand created by industrial engineer Uwe Draabe, who drew directly on his family's namesake business in water treatment and humidity systems to design a genuinely different kind of vinyl cleaner. Rather than settling for the utilitarian look of most cleaning machines on the market, Draabe set out to build something that combined serious cleaning performance with the kind of considered design usually reserved for the hi-fi components themselves.
That philosophy shows clearly across the Nessie range. The flagship Vinylmaster uses a twin-brush system with ultra-fine 0.0075mm nylon bristles that reach deep into record grooves, paired with a dynamic cleaning action that reverses direction every two rotations to maximise dirt removal, and a quiet, automatically controlled vacuum extraction system. The more accessible Vinylcleaner and Vinylcleaner Pro bring much of that same engineering — automatic vacuum extraction, auto-reverse rotation, label-protecting record clamps — into a strikingly designed, high-gloss acrylic housing.
Manufactured in Germany and developed from genuine hands-on experience across thousands of record-cleaning cycles, Nessie has built a reputation among vinyl collectors for machines that are as satisfying to use and look at as they are effective — proof that record care doesn't have to be purely functional to be genuinely excellent.
