Pure

Pure was founded in 2002 in the United Kingdom, evolving from technology company VideoLogic with a clear and ambitious goal: bring digital radio to the British public in a way that was genuinely accessible, well designed, and easy to use. The company's debut product, the Evoke-1, launched on July 31, 2002, and became an instant sensation — its distinctive wood-effect MDF casing and 1960s-style speaker grille sold out within three hours, with Pure struggling to keep up with demand throughout its first year.

That breakthrough helped kickstart the DAB digital radio movement in the UK, and Pure went on to become the world's leading manufacturer of DAB and DAB+ digital radios, reaching the half-million unit milestone by 2005 and two million by 2008. The company continued introducing genuine firsts along the way, including the first sub-£100 DAB radio and the first mainstream in-car DAB radio, while consistently pushing environmental design forward through its EcoPlus range of low-power, recycled-packaging products.

Now based in Kings Langley, Hertfordshire, and part of Austrian investment group AVenture AT, Pure has expanded well beyond its original digital radio roots into Bluetooth speakers, internet radios, and wireless music systems — carrying forward its founding mission to unite the world of music and radio through timelessly beautiful, genuinely great-sounding design.
