Heartily Robust | Independent AK4332
Let there be high fidelity in a true wireless earphone! The FW5 contains an efficient AKM VELVET SOUND DAC – the AK4332 which features high-performance decoding abilities. This chip is capable of signal-to- noise ratio up to 106dB, distortion as low as -96dB, and dynamic range up to 102dB.

More Throughput | Qualcomm QCC5141 Bluetooth Chip
For true wireless earphones, the Bluetooth chip is undoubtedly one of the most important parts. The FW5 employs the high-end Qualcomm QCC5141 that supports Bluetooth 5.2 for stable and high-performance Bluetooth audio thanks to the chip’s dual DSP and dual-core architecture. Additionally, the FW5 is Snapdragon Sound certified as a testament to its highly capable audio abilities.
Acoustic Goodness | One Ear at a Time
The FW5 has been developed by the same FiiO R&D team that created the high-fidelity wired FH9 flagship. In the tiny space of a true wireless earphone, the team managed to fit a large 10mm dynamic driver that handles the low and mid-range frequencies, while higher frequencies are reproduced by 2 Knowles BA drivers. These drivers work together to give powerful yet textured bass while reproducing every last detail in the treble.
More Than Just Big | 10mm Large Dynamic
The FW5 features a large 10mm dynamic driver for the low and mid frequencies. The driver has been designed specifically to maximize the sound quality from its N50 neodymium magnets. These N50 magnets, with their high magnetic density, allow for better dynamics and make the sound stage grander for a thoroughly bold sound.
Bringing Out the Big Gus | DLC Diaphragm with PU
The FW5 uses PU as the material of choice for the gasket surrounding the diaphragm of the dynamic driver, since its flexibility and high damping coefficient allow for lusher vocals and faster transient response. The diaphragm of the dynamic driver is made of DLC, which features favourable properties such as high rigidity and light weight which allow for less unwanted breakup over the dynamic driver. This leads to reduce non-linear distortion and ultimately better resolution.
For Every Last Detail | Knowles High-frequency BA Drivers
For high frequencies, Knowles BA drivers are used for each channel. These BA drivers are placed in the sound tube near the ear to reduce high-frequency loss as sound waves travel to the listener’s ear. This design ensures that even tones like those at 16kHz still come through clearly. This design allows the FW5 to feature an airy, exceptionally detailed treble that captures every nuance of your music.

The FW5 can be connected to two mobile phones at the same time. Just pause music on one of the mobile phones and freely switch to the other one to listen to music or answer a call.
10-Band PEQ Precise Tuning | Born for Good Sound
The PEQ (Parametric Equalizer) function was designed for the FW5, which supports 10-band self-defined tuning. On the FiiO Music App or the FiiO Control App, users can self-adjust the frequency, gain level, Q value, etc., achieving more accurate frequency response among every frequency range while ensuring high-fidelity sound quality. Also, it supports up to 192kHz/24bit under PEQ style.
Better Sound Quality | Comes from The Independent Volume Control System
The circuit of the FW5 continued the design concept of DAC and headphone amplifiers which feature an independent volume control system. There are 32 volume levels, allowing for a more precise adjustment. When connecting the FW5 to the mobile phone (transmitter), it is suggested to set the volume of the phone (transmitter) to the maximum level, and adjust the volume through the FW5, so FiiO can acquire complete audio dynamics from the Bluetooth transmission process and better sound quality.
Carefully tuned Sound | Pleasing Frequency Response Curve
As the first TWS earphones fully developed by FiiO, for the FW5 did not put FiiO’s focus on features such as active noise cancelling (ANC). Instead, FiiO focused on bringing the ultimate in sound quality in a fully integrated TWS earphone. And while it is easy to adjust the frequency response curve via DSP, FiiO chose not to do so. FiiO instead chose to refine the physical design of the unit to reduce distortion, retain the unique sound of the drivers – to maximize the sound quality through good design to fully respect the original music.
Easy to Use With 0 Accidental Touches | 4 Physical Buttons
Based on user feedback from the UTWS Bluetooth series, the development team chose to employ 2 physical buttons per ear unit for operation. The 2 physical buttons make it easier to control play and pause of the current track compared to the traditional 1-button setup. In addition, the 2 buttons are placed perpendicularly to the wearing angle making them easier to press without resorting to too much force.
Fun Without Worries | IPX4 Water Resistance
The FW5 features IPX4 water resistance thanks to cleverly placed films and meshes. A 0.02mm water-resistant film is placed in the gap between the buttons and the shell to not only prevent water from getting in but to also ensure good feel when pressing the buttons. A custom water-resistant and sound-permeable mesh covers the sound nozzle and microphone openings to both prevent water from getting in but also letting sound through at the same time. With the FW5, you can go about life’s joys without worrying about damaging your great-sounding pair of earphones.
Stable Signals | Cover-embedded FPC Antenna
Inside the FW5 are multiple major complex components that need to work together, of which signal transmission is arguably one of the most important. FiiO’s engineers cleverly made use of the FW5’s relatively large surface area of the outer cover and attached an FPC antenna to the inner side of the cover, which greatly improves signal transmission and reception performance. Also, to maintain an attractive look without sacrificing antenna performance, the outer cover is made through a combination of laser-etching + vacuum plating which ensures the FW5 still feels luxuriously metallic.
A Reassuring Partner | 21+ Hours Battery Life
Despite packing a high-performance DAC chip, high-end Bluetooth chip, and a carefully designed audio circuit, the FW5 features battery long enough to easily meet daily usage needs. With its large built-in 65mAh battery, the FW5 can be used for up to 7 hours on a single charge. The 380mAh charging case allows for total battery life of more than 21 hours.
"Box" Switch | Power Switch Linked to the Case
When opening the FW5 charging case, the ear units are automatically turned on and paired with the last device. When the ear units are placed back into the charging case, the FW5 ear units automatically turn off to save power.

Simply Clear | LED Indicator Lights
Both the charging case and the FW5 ear units each feature LED indicator lights to let you quickly know their status. The 4 indicator lights on the charging case not only indicate the battery remaining and the charging status but also indicate if the ear units are in the case. The ear units each also contain a white indicator light that clearly indicates pairing and connection status.
