SERENADE WiFi

The HIFIMAN SERENADE WiFi combines a high-performance HYMALAYA PRO R2R DAC, a Class A headphone amplifier and network streaming capabilities in a sophisticated desktop audio system. Designed for discerning listeners, it brings together digital-to-analogue conversion, headphone amplification, preamplification and network playback in one versatile component, delivering a streamlined solution for high-fidelity listening.

HYMALAYA PRO R2R DAC Technology
At the heart of the SERENADE WiFi is HIFIMAN's HYMALAYA PRO R2R DAC, featuring an FPGA-based processing architecture and precision 0.01% resistors. Its balanced configuration is described by HIFIMAN as equivalent to using two PCM1704K DACs, with an emphasis on precise conversion and detailed musical reproduction.

The DAC supports high-resolution digital audio through USB, optical and coaxial inputs, alongside network playback supporting PCM up to 768kHz and native DSD up to DSD512. This flexibility allows the SERENADE WiFi to serve as the central digital hub of a high-quality desktop audio system.

Class A Headphone Amplification
The SERENADE WiFi features a fully discrete, balanced Class A headphone amplifier designed to provide substantial power and control across a wide range of headphones. Delivering up to 4,000mW per channel into 32Ω through its balanced output, it is equipped to drive demanding headphones while maintaining low distortion.

A FET-based analogue circuit and discrete-component low-pass filter complement the amplifier design. The coupling-capacitor-free signal path further reflects HIFIMAN's focus on a clean, carefully engineered audio architecture.

Network Streaming & Wireless Playback
Built-in Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity enable access to network-based music playback without requiring a separate streamer. The SERENADE WiFi supports high-resolution playback from compatible network music applications and allows music stored on a local NAS to be accessed through a home network.

Its upgradeable digital module incorporates an XMOS XU316 USB interface, as shown in the manufacturer's block diagram. USB, optical and coaxial digital inputs provide additional connectivity for computers and other digital sources, while a stereo RCA input accommodates external analogue equipment.

Versatile System Integration
Beyond headphone listening, the SERENADE WiFi can function as a DAC or preamplifier within a larger audio system. Balanced XLR and single-ended RCA outputs allow connection to power amplifiers or active speakers, with selectable operating modes to suit different setups.

In DAC mode, the rear analogue outputs operate at a fixed level and the headphone outputs are muted. Headphone amplifier mode enables the headphone outputs and links the rear outputs to the headphone volume control. Preamplifier mode provides variable-level analogue output while muting the headphone outputs.

Robust Power Supply & Desktop Construction
A 50W toroidal transformer with oxygen-free copper winding supplies the unit, supported by 30,000µF of total filter capacitor capacity. This power-supply design is intended to provide a stable foundation for the DAC and amplifier circuitry.

With its substantial desktop chassis, comprehensive connections and three operating modes, the HIFIMAN SERENADE WiFi is a versatile centrepiece for a dedicated headphone system or a compact high-performance audio setup.
