Luxman's new NT-07 transport system creates an advanced network audio environment in combination with your D/A converter (USB, optical, or coaxial digital equipped models). The principal sound source options are NAS (Network Attached Storage), which supports the industry standard OpenHome platform, external USB storage directly connected to the main unit and a wide variety of popular music streaming services. The core processing stages are equipped with the latest generation of high-speed application processor modules that handle a wide range of complex functions effortlessly with satisfying operability.

Like all Luxman's audio components, the NT-07 is designed with a high-quality audio-focused approach. The power supply section is equipped with a large-capacity, EI-type power transformer and a pair of custom-made 10,000 μF filter capacitors. Their typical, highly regulated power supply circuitry boasts high noise suppression and stability.

The NT-07’s USB subsystem supports sampling frequencies up to 768 kHz/32‑bit for PCM files and 22.5 MHz/1‑bit DSD data, while the optical/coaxial outputs achieve 192 kHz/24‑bit PCM reproduction. A built-in core decoding function for MQA format sound sources offers three selectable modes: “off”, “core decoding”, and “pass-through”, depending on the connected D/A converter. At the centre of the front panel is a large, easy-to-read, high-definition EL display, conveying information such as the song title, artist name, elapsed time, and the audio format of the selected source.

Compatible with the OpenHome standard, the NT-07 can read sound source data stored on a dedicated music server or network-attached storage (NAS), delivering supreme quality playback. By selecting an NAS with noise suppression and an enhanced linear power supply—such as Melco Syncrets’ DELA, developed specifically as an audio device, or I-O DATA Equipment’s fidata—you can achieve even higher quality and convenience when accessing high-resolution audio data. Additionally, the NT-07 features USB terminals on both the front and rear (exclusive use of either), allowing connection of USB drives containing audio data without requiring a network environment.

A subscription-based music service provides access to nearly 100 million tracks for a fixed monthly fee. The NT-07 offers a rich selection of high-resolution sources and is compatible with Qobuz and TIDAL, integrated via the dedicated “Luxman Stream” app, as well as Spotify, which benefits from a large user base and algorithmic recommendations. It also supports TuneIn, enabling free access to internet radio and podcasts from around the world.

“Luxman Stream” is a free control app exclusively for the NT-07, offering a sophisticated interface to operate a wide range of functions. Separate interfaces are provided for smartphones and tablets, allowing users to select audio sources, create playlists, and configure various device settings. An aluminium infrared remote control is also included, enabling major operations without using the app. It can control playback of Luxman disc players and the volume of an integrated or control amplifier, and features control input/output terminals for linking remote operations between compatible devices.

The NT-07 features an HDMI input for digital audio from Blu-ray players, game consoles, and other video sources, enabling 2-channel audio playback with ARC support, including audio from a connected TV. Its HDMI output provides 2-channel playback at 192kHz/24bit PCM. Adding the NT-07 allows the creation of a high-quality living audio system that seamlessly handles network sources, live video, and movies without disrupting your existing system or listening style.

The NT-07 will support Roon Ready certification (as of March 2024), allowing it to act as an output device for the popular music playback software. When selected as the output destination, playback can also be cast from Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, Mac) or Windows PCs. Its intelligent resampling function matches the sampling frequency and bit depth supported by your connected D/A converter, handling PCM data from 44.1kHz up to 384kHz, with individual up/down sampling settings available.
