NT-1
Reshaping the Listening Landscape
Matrix Audio proudly presents the NT-1, a groundbreaking digital audio transport designed for audiophiles in pursuit of perfection. This high-end device unlocks the vast world of network streaming, extending beyond the limitations of traditional audio sources and bringing new life to your audio system.
Inheriting and Upgrading
The NT-1 introduces Matrix Audio's latest family design language and features the same Hi-Fi streaming hardware as the M Series. With a powerful core upgrade and an enhanced display, it delivers an elevated experience that appeals to both the ears and the eyes.
Continuous Evolution | Easier to Use
The continually evolving MA Player Hi-Fi Streamer OS and MA Remote App provide seamless compatibility with iOS and Android devices. Whether using a smartphone or tablet, listeners can enjoy a smooth, intuitive control experience.
Enjoy Local and Cloud Music
The NT-1 supports NAS drive mounting, allowing users to build a music library directly from network-attached storage. Music stored in cloud services, such as Baidu Netdisk, can also be mounted directly on the device for convenient access.
SSD Storage | Fast and Quiet
An NVMe SSD slot on the underside of the NT-1 allows users to expand its internal storage by installing an SSD. A specially designed, ultra-low-noise independent power supply provides a quiet operating environment for the drive, offering an approach that goes beyond the typical power arrangements found in standard computers.
Shareable Internal Storage
With SMB protocol support, computers on the same network can easily access the NT-1's storage, simplifying music library management. The device can also function as a NAS, allowing other streamers on the network to play stored music seamlessly.
Smart Wake-Up and Trigger Control
The NT-1 can wake automatically for local music playback or online streaming. Its trigger connection can also switch on a connected DAC or amplifier, providing convenient, automated system control without manual intervention.
Excellent Clock System
Derived from Matrix Audio's flagship model, the NT-1's clock system offers two operating modes. In internal clock mode, the femtosecond clock provides a reference for the RF synthesiser, producing a highly stable audio clock with low phase noise. In external clock mode, the incoming reference signal drives the RF synthesiser, producing an audio clock that is highly stable, has low phase noise and remains phase-synchronised with the input clock. When paired with the Matrix Audio SC-1 Audio Grade Reference Clock, the NT-1 can further enhance its clock performance and help unlock additional audio potential.
Multiple Interfaces
The NT-1 provides optical, coaxial, AES/EBU and IIS-LVDS outputs, allowing it to connect to a variety of digital audio devices, including DACs and amplifiers. When connected to active speakers with digital inputs, the digital volume control can also be enabled, allowing convenient volume adjustment without the need for a separate speaker controller.
Ensuring Pure Audio Transmission
The NT-1 features a dedicated USB DAC interface with electrical isolation. This design helps minimise transmission noise and isolates the USB port's ground from the device's ground, reducing noise and interference during audio transmission to help preserve signal purity.
The NT-1 also features a specially designed linear power supply with independent transformer windings and a precision low-noise regulator circuit. This provides the USB DAC interface with a dedicated power supply isolated from the digital circuitry, further improving the stability and noise performance of audio transmission for high-quality Hi-Fi playback.
Flexible Connection Options
With compatible SFP modules, the NT-1 allows users to add either optical fibre or Ethernet connectivity according to their requirements. When used with a Matrix Audio audio-grade network switch, it can form part of an efficient, stable network connection tailored to Hi-Fi listening environments.
Fully Linear Power Supply
The NT-1's power supply is built around a 60 W toroidal transformer and multiple LDO regulators. The digital audio processing core and USB DAC interface receive power from two independent transformer windings, helping each section operate stably while effectively reducing noise interference.
