TITAN-inspired architecture in a single chassis
When Titan was released back in 2008, it took the HiFi world by storm due to its groundbreaking dual mono power amplifier technology. Musical Fidelity are now trickling this flagship-style thinking to a more accessible, lower-power-tuned packages like the M5xi - which is essentially a dedicated preamp partnered with two independent monobloc power amps that share the same casework much like the Titan.

Heroic build quality and shielding
A massive, extruded aluminium front panel and metal casework help resist vibration and act as a Faraday cage. Inside, the main transformer and power supply PCB are encapsulated in metal to reduce electromagnetic interference - benefiting the entire amplifier, especially the sensitive phono stage.

Upgraded MM/MC phono and isolated digital boards
A completely new MM/MC phono stage adds moving-coil support and uses improved shielding, isolation and circuit layout to lower noise and distortion - crucial for high-gain amplification. Digital and ARC circuitry sit on separate boards with their own linear power supply to keep RF interference away from the analogue amplification stages.

Modern connectivity that fits real-world systems
HDMI eARC makes TV integration effortless while keeping true two-channel performance front and centre. Optical, coaxial and USB-C digital inputs (up to 24-bit/192kHz) broaden source options. Featuring Home Theatre Bypass to integrate the M5xi into an AV system with ease: it bypasses the preamp stage so the M5xi operates as a high-performance stereo power amplifier for your front left/right speakers. Pre-Out/Line-Out connections add system-building flexibility, letting you connect external power amplifiers for upgrades and bi-amping configurations. For custom installation and reliable system control, the M5xi also includes an RS232 interface.

Updated remote for everyday control
The redesigned remote is lightweight and comfortable in the hand, with colour-coding in Musical Fidelity’s brand colours. It’s designed for universal compatibility across M-series components, helping you run your system with a single controller.

High-current power: 160W per channel into 8Ω
With 160 watts per channel into 8Ω and 240 watts into 4Ω, the M5xi is built for headroom and composure. Its TITAN-derived stability and increased output capability help it stay authoritative through demanding loudspeaker loads and low-impedance dips.

Low-distortion output stage and optimised PCB layout
A low-distortion Darlington output stage in the classic Musical Fidelity configuration is designed to eliminate crossover artefacts while keeping residual distortion extremely low. Careful PCB optimisation reduces imbalances and the need for corrective feedback, with purely analogue power supplies during operation to minimise high-frequency noise and EMC-related interference.

Fully analogue preamp with stepped volume control
The fully analogue preamplifier stage is engineered for low noise and signal integrity across the full dynamic range, preserving microdetail and stable imaging at any listening level. A Burr-Brown stepped attenuator improves channel matching for precise stereo balance and consistent tonal accuracy.
