Premium CD Playback, R2R Detail and Powerful Portable Amplification
The Shanling EC Zero T MAX brings together the character of physical CD playback with modern high-resolution digital audio technology. Designed as a premium portable Hi-Fi CD player, it combines Shanling’s proprietary 24-bit R2R DAC architecture, dual JAN6418 tube output, a redesigned headphone amplifier and versatile digital connectivity in a compact battery-powered chassis.

Building on the acclaimed EC Zero T, the MAX edition introduces an upgraded DAC circuit and a significantly more powerful headphone amplifier. The result is a more capable portable source designed to work with everything from sensitive in-ear monitors to demanding full-size headphones.

Shanling R2R DAC Architecture
At the heart of the EC Zero T MAX is Shanling's proprietary 24-bit R2R DAC module, constructed using 192 high-precision 0.1% resistors. Shanling has further refined the DAC circuitry and power supply compared with the original EC Zero T, aiming for a wider, deeper soundstage and greater transparency through the midrange and treble.

Users can also choose between Non-Oversampling (NOS) and Oversampling (OS) modes, allowing the presentation to be tailored to personal listening preferences.

Dual JAN6418 Tube Sound
For listeners who enjoy the distinctive character of valve amplification, the EC Zero T MAX incorporates dual JAN6418 miniature vacuum tubes. The player provides selectable tube and transistor output modes, giving users two different approaches to their music.

The tube circuit adds the option of a richer, more organic presentation, while transistor mode provides a clean and powerful alternative.

Upgraded Headphone Amplifier
One of the most significant improvements in the MAX edition is its redesigned headphone amplifier, built around the AD8397. The upgraded circuit delivers substantially more power directly from the internal battery, eliminating the need for an external power supply to access its maximum portable output.

The balanced 4.4mm output can deliver up to 1,300mW at 32Ω, while the 3.5mm single-ended output reaches up to 361mW at 32Ω. The greatly reduced output impedance also makes the EC Zero T MAX a more versatile partner for both demanding headphones and sensitive IEMs.

A True Portable CD Experience
The EC Zero T MAX is built around a custom CD mechanism with an active magnetic CD clamp and advanced anti-skip technology. This allows physical CDs to be enjoyed away from the traditional Hi-Fi system while helping maintain stable playback during portable use.

It also supports CD ripping to an attached USB storage device, allowing your physical collection to be converted into digital WAV files for convenient storage and playback.

High-Resolution USB DAC
Beyond CD playback, the EC Zero T MAX can function as a high-resolution USB DAC. It supports PCM audio up to 32-bit/768kHz and DSD512, making it suitable for use with a computer or other compatible digital source.

For integration with external Hi-Fi equipment, the player also provides dedicated 3.5mm and 4.4mm line outputs, together with coaxial and optical digital outputs.

Wireless Listening
Bluetooth 5.3 transmission provides a convenient way to send music wirelessly to compatible headphones, earphones or speakers. Supported Bluetooth codecs include aptX Adaptive, aptX and SBC.

The EC Zero T MAX is therefore able to bridge the gap between a traditional physical CD collection and modern wireless listening.

Premium Portable Design
The EC Zero T MAX combines a robust aluminium chassis with tempered-glass panels and a 1.68-inch colour LCD display. Its Titanium Grey finish gives the player a refined, contemporary appearance, while physical controls and a volume slider retain the tactile feel expected from dedicated Hi-Fi equipment.

Powered by a 5,500mAh battery, the EC Zero T MAX is designed for extended portable listening without requiring a permanent connection to mains power.
