Flagship-Level DAC | ESS ES9038Pro with ES9311 Regulator
Based around ESS’s flagship ES9038Pro DAC, supported by its dedicated ES9311 voltage regulator, the EM7 fully utilises the DAC’s eight-channel architecture in a fully balanced audio circuit. The result is a highly detailed, dynamic and fast presentation, ideal for demanding recordings.
Dual Independent Power
To prevent unwanted interference between the streaming and high-end audio circuitry, the EM7 uses a split power supply design, with the Android system powered by its own dedicated switching supply.
Noratel Toroidal Transformer
A high-performance transformer from Norway is paired with two high-current voltage regulator chips and four 6800 µF / 35V premium capacitors, providing clean, stable power for the EM7’s DAC and balanced amplifier stages.
True Hi-Fi | Down to the Last Detail
Such an advanced audio circuit demands equally high-quality components to eliminate weak links in the signal path. The EM7 uses high-precision Omron relays, with all internal connections made using Hi-Fi-grade single-crystal copper wiring and gold-plated oxygen-free copper terminals.
Fully Balanced Headphone Amplifier
Four TI OPA2211 op-amps combined with eight ED139 and BD140 transistors form a fully balanced four-channel headphone amplifier, based on Shanling’s proven OP+BUF topology, taking amplifier performance to a new level.
In-House Developed I/V Stage
A highly optimised I/V conversion stage based on the TI OPA1611 helps the ES9038Pro achieve its full potential, preserving the energy and character of the DAC.
DPAF Low-Pass Filtering
DPAF (Constant Phase Across All Frequencies) technology, developed by Shanling’s engineering team, utilises two additional TI OPA2211 op-amps for precise filtering performance.
KSD Crystal Oscillators & 3rd Generation FPGA
Two Japanese KSD active crystal oscillators and an updated in-house FPGA algorithm ensure highly accurate digital signal transmission, effectively reducing jitter for cleaner, more precise sound reproduction.
Thin-Film Resistors
With 0.01% accuracy and excellent thermal stability, these high-precision thin-film resistors form a key part of the EM7’s design.
Panasonic Capacitors
Special tantalum-polymer capacitors offering high accuracy and reduced sensitivity to temperature fluctuations.
Hi-Res Playback Under Control
Equipped with an XMOS UX208 USB input, the EM7 functions as a high-end USB DAC, supporting PCM up to 32-bit / 768 kHz and DSD512. It also features a CT7302 audio bridge, enabling high-quality sample rate conversion, including full conversion of audio playback to DSD.
Bluetooth Streaming Connection
With Bluetooth 5.0 support, the EM7 can function as a wireless receiver, streaming music directly from your phone. Thanks to its two-way capability, it can also transmit audio to wireless headphones or speakers.
Companion App Remote Control
Connect the EM7 to Shanling’s Eddict Player app and use any Android or iOS smartphone or tablet as a remote controller. Use Wi-Fi for full screen mirroring or switch to Bluetooth for simpler playback control.
