Streamlined Wave Design
Using precise CNC machining, the main chassis is crafted from a single piece of aircraft-grade aluminium, featuring a complex wave pattern along the sides in an elegant titanium grey finish. Glass panels on the front, rear and top complete the clean, refined design.

Flagship ESS Performance
The audio circuit of the M7 is built around the ES9038PRO, ESS Sabre’s flagship DAC. Previously implemented in Shanling’s top-of-the-range CD player CD3.2 (21), this provided valuable experience for optimising its performance in a portable design.

Shanling’s CPAF Technology
To address group delay issues found in traditional low-pass filters, Shanling developed a new circuit based on advanced mathematical modelling. CPAF (Constant Phase Across All Frequencies) ensures improved phase consistency across the audio spectrum.
KDS Crystal Oscillators & 3rd Generation FPGA
Two Japanese KDS active crystal oscillators, combined with an improved in-house algorithm, provide greater accuracy and enhanced performance when decoding PCM and DSD data, supporting up to 32-bit / 768kHz and DSD512.
Japanese ELNA Capacitors
A proven choice in high-end SACD players and amplifiers, Shanling incorporates premium ELNA Silmic II capacitors into the M7’s audio circuit.
