On-wall speakers are also worth considering where wall cavity depth is limited, since they don't rely on the wall void for part of their enclosure design. It's worth checking cavity depth carefully before specifying an in-wall speaker for a smaller stud wall room, as depth requirements vary considerably between models.

For any smaller room, choosing installation speakers proportionate to the space helps ensure a balanced, enjoyable sound without the boominess or impractical cut-out sizes larger speakers can bring.
