True musicality begins with consistency across the entire frequency range. To achieve this, the NX-70A utilises a unique Harmonious Diaphragm™ in all speaker units, ensuring unified timbre from low to high frequencies. Made from a carefully balanced blend of PBO fibre ZYLON™ – used in Yamaha's flagship speakers – and spruce wood, also used in the soundboards of grand pianos, the result is sound that feels natural, cohesive and deeply musical, faithfully reproducing both instruments and voices.
Remarkable Realism - Synergistic Drive
At the heart of the NX-70A is Synergistic Drive™ – an innovative unified circuit design that allows the amplifier and speaker unit to operate in perfect unity. By connecting the speaker unit directly to the amplifier circuit, the system precisely manages electric current flow, minimising distortion that is fundamentally rooted in conventional amplifier-speaker interactions. As a result, the integrity of the original content is preserved, delivering sound with remarkable realism. This approach is only possible when the amplifier and speaker are designed as a dedicated pair, and it reflects Yamaha's unique strength as a manufacturer deeply experienced in both amplifiers and speakers.

YPAO™ (Yamaha Parametric Room Acoustic Optimizer) is Yamaha’s proprietary automatic sound optimisation technology that measures the listening environment with a dedicated microphone and precisely adjusts playback for your space. In the NX-70A, YPAO R.S.C. (Reflected Sound Control) manages early reflections that strongly affect stereo clarity, while high-precision EQ fine-tunes tonal balance. The result is a soundstage that feels natural and balanced, allowing the performance to come through as it was intended – regardless of where the speakers are placed.
Designed for Sound
Every physical detail of the NX-70A is designed with sound in mind. The cabinet's rounded form avoids parallel surfaces, helping suppress internal standing waves, while rigid construction keeps unwanted vibration under control. Moreover, the 5 mm aluminium plate is integrated into the top of the cabinet and firmly secured with screws, reinforcing the enclosure as a single, solid structure. This added rigidity results in a stable foundation that lets the sound remain clear, focused and true.
