Kerr Acoustic

Kerr Acoustic was founded by Jes Kerr, a drummer, percussionist, and Audio & Music Technology graduate from Anglia Ruskin University who chose loudspeaker design as his creative outlet. As a working session musician and music producer, Jes spent years collecting, restoring, and modifying a vast range of different loudspeaker designs in pursuit of the sound he wanted for his own recordings — an obsession that eventually led him to start designing speakers of his own.

That pro-audio grounding shaped Kerr Acoustic's identity from the outset: speakers built to professional monitoring standards, precise enough for critical studio listening, but musical and engaging enough to shine in a home system too. Every Kerr Acoustic model is hand-built in the UK from responsibly sourced Baltic birch plywood using Kerr Acoustic's transmission line bass loading and true ribbon tweeters, with cabinets hand-finished in lacquer or real wood veneer. It's genuinely a family business — Jes's father Steve, a joiner by trade, crafts the enclosures for the K300 range.

Based in Cambridge, England, Kerr Acoustic has grown quickly since launching, picking up multiple StereoNET Applause Awards and finding its way into the studios of Grammy-winning producers and the homes of audiophiles worldwide — proof that a musician's ear can be just as valuable as an engineer's calculations when it comes to building a genuinely great speaker.
