Perlisten Audio
Perlisten
Perlisten Audio was founded in April 2016 by acoustical engineer Daniel Roemer and former M&K Sound president Lars Johansen, two industry veterans who between them brought decades of experience from companies including NHT, Acoustic Research, Advent, JBL, Harman Kardon, and Klipsch. Conceived initially through their consulting firm D-Acoustic, the pair set out to build something genuinely different: a loudspeaker brand built entirely around a philosophy they call "Perceptual Listening" — engineering sound to match how listeners actually perceive it, whatever the room or recording.
Rather than rushing to market, Perlisten spent years on research and development, assembling a team of dedicated audiophiles across Europe, North America, and Asia, and developing every core technology entirely in-house rather than sourcing components off the shelf. That patience paid off with the debut of the proprietary Directivity Pattern Control (DPC) array — combining a Beryllium dome tweeter with twin Thin Ply Carbon Diaphragm mid-range drivers in a single waveguided unit — delivering exceptionally accurate, coherent sound dispersion across a wide frequency range.
Based in Verona, Wisconsin, with facilities also spanning California, Copenhagen, and China, Perlisten launched its full product line in 2020 and quickly became the first loudspeaker manufacturer in the world to achieve THX Certified Dominus status. Widely hailed as one of the most impressive audio debuts in years, Perlisten continues to build speakers and subwoofers for listeners who want genuine engineering innovation behind every note.
