Luxman

Luxman's story begins in Osaka, Japan, in June 1925 — the very year radio broadcasting began in the country. The company started life as the radio equipment department of Kinsuido, a picture-frame importer whose founder became fascinated with the new technology, going on to publish one of Japan's first radio manuals. Kinsuido was the first shop in Japan to display and demonstrate radio equipment, and passersby would stop simply to listen to the beauty of the sound coming from the store.

To compete effectively against imported American and European technology, the company made a defining decision: rather than simply selling equipment, it would manufacture its own components in-house. That commitment to in-house engineering became the foundation of the Luxman brand, and by the mid-1970s and into the 1980s, Luxman's vacuum tube amplifiers had made it one of the most respected names in high-end audio worldwide, admired for the warmth of their sound and the beauty of their industrial design.

Now part of the International Audio Group and still manufacturing in Yokohama, Japan, Luxman continues building amplifiers, turntables, DACs, and CD players guided by the same principle captured in its own tagline: Ultimate Fidelity Since 1925.
